Black and White: if it's made of latex, it's better!

Read this entry in my website: click here
*********************************************

I forgot to post this portrait on my journal, what a shame!

I am a lucky girl as I got to work with one of my favourite, and no doubt most talented too, photographers. I created this look as opposite to the sexy dress - latex lingerie (high waisted girdle, strapless bra and a harness) and Fabiana took some awesome pictures. Oh dear. She managed to make me look pretty even if I was sick that day. Actually, I am kinda a silent, shy-lookalike person myself, however that day I barely talked and I was not exciting at all. I assumed I was just tired - afterall those were hard and endless days at work, and I suffered a severe lack of sleep as well - however apparently I was that grumpy due to the fever. Meh :)

The super chocker I am wearing (you can spot a piece of harness, too!!) has been handcrafted with love by VinNoir Latex. You can peek at the full outfit HERE.

I have a thing for stripes <3

Some of my very first pictures :O

Today I was looking for a new pic to decorate my journal with (as I have a number of previews to show off) and I stumbled upon these instead.

2004. Almost 10 years ago! So long I can't believe it. At that time, I was living in Belgium. I had some previous experience with modelling, not that much as I mostly took reference pics for artwork (stock images) and modelled for some friends who were willing to take pictures. At that time, nobody in my area was willing to shoot a weirdo and everyone was interested in typical classic "girl next door" attitude. Not my cup of tea.

This has been one of my very first photosets. The first one in a real studio. I still remember it as a mix of amazingness and fear. The studio was huge and so beautiful. There were other two models with me, shooting their own nude sets before my turn. They were all pretty and young, yet not helpful, babbling in their own language all of the time (my language skills weren't that good at the time and I was more used to hear Dutch than Flemish, actually). I assume they were friends and I was the weird stranger goth-looking, so well...

Nonetheless, I managed it successfully :)

We took many pictures and, in the end and after so many years, only 3 from the original set are still online. I was naive and inexperienced and the photographer did a great work. So many memories!

I did not know how to dress up - I had no fancy dresses, no real corsets, no jaw-dropping gowns. I did not know anyone that could have helped me. There was no makeup artist, no hair stylist, nobody else. So I dressed up like I did everyday, did my usual makeup (and lately I did the other models makeup too regarding "my" set), brushed my hair. Scared and happy, uncertain about the day to come, I left for my adventure.

Nine years ago, and today I'm still there. I sometimes can't believe it myself. And this all happened because I really loved what I did. Never gave up, even if I was living in the Middle of Nowhere and I had no means, no money, no photographers available. Even if I had to travel so much for a single photoset, and I often had to do everything by myself, from concept to clothing to post production. I worked my ass off - really :)

One last picture. It makes me softly smile :)

Photographer: Raymond Janssen
Co-Models: Kim and Nina

Hello! Back in Milano :)

Almighty Cthulhu and I say hello! Back in Milan at last, my holiday is over already. Boo!

And now, couple of weeks of full work/relax with my mom (who came over visiting) until I begin shooting like there's no tomorrow. I am booked until the first week of June; getting a small break right after as I guess I will need it badly. Still planning summer shoots though :)

For more pics like this one, follow me on instagram!
Fabiana Antolini and Black Candy Alternative Fashion: such a combo!

Leaving today! Going back home for a few days. The 25th is a holiday in Italy (Liberation Day) and, therefore, a day off. Took the advantage, couple of days off more and a small holiday will happen. Dentist, friends and relatives - all squeezed into my 5-days-stay.

Willing to post couple of pictures more. Amazing photographer is Fabiana Antolini and designer is Black Candy Alternative Fashion.

Hair and makeup by me. I hope I did well; I do my makeup in most of my shoots, however I always prefer having a pro makeup artist / hair (MUAH) when shooting beauty pictures for obvious reasons :)

Fun anecdote behind this photo: we did not manage to find an available MUAH for the shoot. Everyone seemed to be either out of town, fully booked... or whatever :)

I was quite busy during that week (I work a lot indeed), so at a certain point I got tired about asking and admitting that fate was blatantly against me (plus buckets of bad luck, whee! :)). At the end, I decided to take it as an opportunity instead of the other way round. I am not as skilled as a pro, however I did my best. Fabiana is otrageously talented and this is the result.

So, on a side note: we are in Milan area, Italy. If any Makeup Artist or Hair Stylist is willing to be part of any of my upcoming projects and is up for a cooperation, let me know! Designers are very welcome as well ♥

And this is a full-body image that shows Black Candy's work in all of its glory :). Amazing red bodice (which is laced up as a corset, we did not take pictures of the back...) with front heart-shaped cut, custom-made bra with delicate bow accents and hair accessories such a fascinator hairpiece featuring red handmade roses and a veil covered my a few small, sparkly and amazing heart-shaped crystal-like strasses :). The latter will better be seen in future pictures though. As for now, let these two be enough! :)

"Come to the Dark Side. We have cookies!"

A little bit of story behind this photo.

Shooting with Darth Vader has been one of my dreams for long time. Ok, add Mario and Luigi as well. I have been lusting after that dark helmet for months and never got it. Then, it just happened, with no planning. It came out as the only one picture (how I regret it! We would have matched for a whole photoset! :D).

Fabiana and I were shooting. On the other room there were 3 people - nice guys came to help who have been exceptionally funny, patient and caring ♥.

At some point, we heard knocking. The door opened and HE walked into the room, with his lightsaber on. The other two guys were laughing like hell. I started laughing too, while Darth Vader said "we were getting bored!". I wish I could have taken a picture of Fabiana's face. Priceless.

We took one pic together. Then he walked off the dark room, closed the door behind him, and we didn't see Darth Vader ever since. Thank you Luca, you made a dream come true without even knowing it ♥

And thanks to the super-photographer Fabiana, who took the best photo I probably shot in 10 years or so. I think I'll make a poster of this one and put it on my living room, ahah!

"Come to the Dark Side. We have cookies!".

Photography by Fabiana Antolini
Latex by VinNoir Latex
Model/HS/MUA: Delilah

I like to procrastinate. Pictures by Ettone and Roberto

All hail the queen of procrastination!

During past months I worked with some extraordinary people. After many years I met Ettone and Saramiao. It took so long since we first met online! I am now living in Milano and this makes things easier. I did not really have the chance to meet many people before. So, meeting them has been kind of a dream come true.

On the same day I also shoot with Roberto, who has been all kinds of awesome. Many photos have been posted on my fb already, so in order to catch up with stuff in my journal and not making a too huge photo post, I'll go or one each plus my favourite: the backstage pic.

From left to right: Ettone, Saramiao, Delilah, Roberto

The first picture I am posting is by Ettone :) - this one is very different, funny and fresh. Amazing how he can combine darkness and fun!

On a totally different style, the following pic is by Roberto. It reminds me of a disarticulated doll - just like he suggested while posing. Like a doll forgot somewhere.

Life is going okay. I love my work, my colleagues, and that's a bold part of my whole life at the moment. In a few months I will be planning something else, such as moving in a new apartment probably. Who knows.
As for now, I won't stress about it and keep posting pictures :). I got lots of sets lined up until mid/the end of June already (according to my spare days) so there still is much to do :)

New design and interview by Gisela Scerman (Italian)

Oh hai!

I spent some time redesigning the journal. Not much, honestly, so I am expecting some more comments from you in order to improve the whole website (thanks to everyone that sent me messages and comments after I posted on my fb page!).

Due to little time, I am redesigning stuff step by step. I manually copied the latest entries to this new journal; archives from 2005 are still available on the web (see first entry; also I will keep updating the web archive so no entry will be missing). It is now possible to comment here; note that I will not approve hateful comments. Thankfully I have been lucky so far, however I better state it before :)

I procrastinated a bit and did not update the website for a long while. There are a bunch of news and awesome pictures to post. Still some tuning to do.

In the meanwhile, if you can read Italian, here's a new interview by Gisela Scerman :)

...oh, and find me on a bunch of social networks! Look at the links on the right sidebar (or check my about.me page since I am collecting the majority of my links there :))

2013: so long and thank you for all the fish!

Long time not posting! I've never been good at this blogging thing :)

Actually, I had some technical problem (long story short, both of my computers got broken, mad workload, crazy schedule and such stuff) so I am going to catch up with a single entry.

My life, during past year and in a special way latest months, changed quite a while. I moved (now living in Milan, Italy), met lots of new people, lost others. In a special way missing my dad has been terrible. It still is. Months pass by, people do forget, however I do not. It didn't change a thing by my side. I still dream him at night and can't believe he's not with me anymore.

On the bright side, I got a new job (the reason for what I moved to Milano) and I am happy. My colleagues are ace, my bosses are the best. I managed to find heaven somehow and can't wait to learn more and more and be more and more productive.

I also kept shooting. Living in Milano means I got lots of awesome photographers all around. I am very busy with work, however I managed to squeeze in some shoots, and planning more. Sadly I am able to shoot during weekends only and I am not available every weekend, though I got some amazing results. Living in such a big city makes the difference. I didn't have such an opportunity back then :)

Time to post some new pics and stop babbling: photo by Ettone :)

Will update my website soon :)

Serial Blue - Plastica Series by Cunene

What I mostly hate about posting journal entries is that I have to upload my pictures to a third-party website and then link them in the post. I could upload them on my website too, however it does not matter: it still bores me somehow. So it always takes long before I upload a picture :)

Plus I always am on a rush, so -quick!- let's post the picture, before the queen chops my head off!

Model: Delilah

This outfit is entirely handmade by the amazing Cunene by using garbage bags. It's part of her Plastica series, which you should check out - she did an awesome job with the other lucky models, too! Make sure to like her facebook page as well for updated photos :)

Cunene and our tribute shoot

After a busy week, the day finally arrived. I left in the morning and jumped on the train. Destination: Cunene's HeadQuarters.

I almost got lost in the middle of nowhere (like everytime I visit her, I'm always in doubt on where to go since train stations do not have very viewable signs telling you which village you are reaching...) however I made it. Saw Cunene, happy me.

I mentioned a thousand times that Cunene is more than just a photographer. We spent half of the time having a pizza, laughing, talking and having fun. She introduced her dog to me (her dog does sing! Really!) and I had a lovely talk to her parents. Her dad told me I am a Dublin-type of girl (or something like that) and that I should really visit the city (never been to Dublin or Ireland before). I won't miss it as soon as the chance comes along. Promised, Cunene's dad!

This time we shot three sets. First one divided into two different looks, second one for her plastic project, third one for zivity. Let's talk about the first one for now :)

We both like an artist. Her name is Natascia Raffio and I totally like her drawings and statues/dolls. I find them so inspiring and somehow related to me. In the past, I also used to draw similar characters (not as good as she does though, of course :)) and I asked Cunene to do a tribute. And she agreed, and took care of the styling while I was doing the makeup.

Thank you Natascia for inspiring us. Thank you Cunene for these awesome pictures. It's my first tribute ever, in so many years. However, you see, something must really inspire you.

Here is the result, as Cunene has been super-fast :).

Bigger versions on my gallery and you will find them on my facebook page as well :)

Backstage pictures with Labdiën Photography + Daniela Lecce

I am definitely writing a short post - it's kind of late and I am totally tired. Just wanted to post about past Saturday's shoot with Labdiën Photography and Daniela Lecce.

It has been super! I love the girls. We had tons of fun and we'll shoot again in november, with the 4th part of the group; our totally awesome stylist who's currently sewing an outfit on purpose. Therefore, while waiting for the fantabulous dress to be used in a shoot, we met on Saturday and shot some beauty picture, to see how it goes.

It went great. Thanks to Juliet and Daniela I also got some super-fantastic backstage pics (found them on instagram <3) and... the bomb! here you get some backstage pics, while waiting for the final ones.. :)

Daniela Lecce, our MakeUp/Hair Artist, making me pretty! Backstage picture by Juliet!

hello hello! It's me looking at Daniela while she's taking a picture with her phone. We had tons of foun with makeup. How to make a girl happy? Give her a jar of huge "glitters". How to make three girls happy...? Go figure it out :P

And here's the last picture, taken by Daniela, while shooting:

I will post the final pictures soon. This shoot has been amazing <3

Goodbye, dad.

I wanted to tell a story. Tried to write it couple of times, but either something was missing or it was too painful to do so.

I gave up, and I will just write a random bit.

Some of you noticed I've not been online for quite some time lately. I lost my dad and it feels horrible. It's heartbreaking and I can't describe how I feel.

He was very proud of me and what I did in my life. We have always been very similar, both in looks and behavior. He always supported me, taught me a thousand of things, even if it is my mom who literally grew us up (I got a brother). When I was 4, he was reading me the "Divina Commedia". At the age of six, he was bugging me with physics, while I was more interested in dolls probably. At 8, I was able to change a car's tires. At 10, I used to know about mushrooms (which ones are edible and which ones are poisonous). He was an alpine, so we grew up with that in mind. While I am not patriotic, I have a deep respect for alpines and we always went to this or that mountain for a walk, and we never missed to go twice per year at some local meeting and party with a good pasta.

He was also a proud biker, so I had the chance to discover that world as well. He took me on a motorbike and I was 3 only, probably even younger. I can use a chainsaw, I did learn a lot about stars and constellations. I can shoot, build a wall, climb a mountain. He always said I had to learn things so I would have been able to do them by myself, not ask others for help.

He was very proud of my degree as he loved to go to school, and could never do it (he started to work when he was very young and there was no money for more school for him. Those were hard times.). So he kept telling everyone about me. It was even embarrassing sometimes, but oh so sweet. I loved my dad, and he loved us. Not an easily-manageable man, but he had a big heart.

He was a genius. Invented, fixed, created lots of things, in a special way to make our life at home more comfortable. He was there when we needed him and it breaks my heart to know he's not sitting in the sofa anymore. We had plans for the summer and lots of things to do now that he just retired, after 41 (41!!) years of work. Life is unfair and only time will, maybe, help. I feel like I'm a small girl again looking for her dad but not able to find him anywhere.

Telling the internet how great my dad was helped a bit. Not enough, still..

Goodbye, dad.

* * *

Thanks to every single one of you that sent me a message, a hug, a small heart, whatever.
After two months of being silent, I will soon re-start doing things so I can keep my mind busy. It still is an hard time for me, so please keep that in mind. I need my time.

Weekend in Trento

Past weekend I have been in Trento, Italy :)

I spent some nice days with Lucy Evilqueen, Dt2 Photo and Lucy Makeup for a project I decided to support.

It's a calendar - nothing new under the sun - however every month features a special theme, like - indeed - most calendars out there. What makes the difference is that the themes are carefully chosen and set up by the above mentioned team and the calendar will be made for LAV (Lega Anti Vivisezione) of Belluno, Italy.

Belluno, a nice Italian city surrounded by mountains and pretty landscapes, has a dog pound. They need more money in order to face emergencies (such as last-minute surgeries like happened some time ago, dog/other animals care and such stuff) and a calendar was the best way to gain some more foundings for the pound. Classical indeed, however a calendar is easier to sell than most things.

The pictures I shot are very different from anything I've seen before, and I am very curious about the final result. It's not the typical "nude girl for the animals" photo calendar; there is a theme, a heavy styling work, an idea and everything is developed with love and care.

Calendars will be sold during fairs and similar events and most probably online as well. For more information about it, feel free to contact me or keep an eye on this space. You may get a spare calendar for your room and give something great in return, as they are for a good cause :).

Buying stuff for a good cause or donating is way better than just sharing a status on facebook, honestly, whatever the cause is. That does clear your coscience maybe, so you think you've contributed and done something good, but you've done nothing really. Just shared a status, a photo or a sentence. Does it improve the cause you support, make things better? :)

That said, here is a backstage picture. Miss Esther (the superpretty hairdresser!) and I, getting ready for the second shoot :)

I also took the chance to shoot some pinup pictures. I love PinUp and Rockabilly however I've always thought I have not the right 'curvy' figure for it and always been a bit shy about it. Also I have a total different style on daily life, I do not breath 50s and I've therefore never had the chance to "see how I would look like"

A photographer, a few months ago, turned me off because (among the other things) she didn't have enough faith in me doing my best in a pinup shoot (she is willing to shoot pinup all the way and that is / I do my best in every shoot and every genre, provided that you have faith in me, otherwise we better not work together, don't you think? :)). So when I shot past weekend I was a bit nervous due to this, felt 'not good enough'. It was kind of my "first time" and I was looking forward to it with both anticipation and fear :)

Thankfully, working with Lucy, Danny and Zeb (thank you :)) has been funny and I did laugh all of the time. I am confident enough about my latest set. I felt like doing something new and they made me feel comfortable no matter what. So I am very very curious to see how it went :).

Lucy made me look like the perfect pinup housewife/starlet and the dresses were adorable. So happy I got the chance to do something like this :) so no matter how the pictures will look like, I archieved a personal success anyway ;)

Picture Post: EyeshootPhotographs

I am sorry I am so busy and didn't manage to properly update my journal! Will do a picture post until I find enough time to sit down and write something new :)

However, new picture!

This is one of the pics shot by the amazing EyeshootPhotographs - shame on me, I still have to update my website with a selection of photos from that shoot. Will do it soon :)

I wanted to shoot some 'tight corset' pictures, however the styling doesn't really show how tight the corset was (skirt' ruffles kinda fool the eye, not giving the perfect hourglass shape). Also, it's not tight enough for my liking, so I will do that again in the near future. I love tightlacing and I always wanted to take a picture with a dramatic small waist :). It would be SO cool!

I also would have needed some more time to get accustomed to the corset, instead I kept it for 20 minutes only (it takes up to one hour in order to get used before to heavily tightlace it; I don't do it everyday so I need some time for my body to get used to it before doing so). See candid picture on my facebook: CLICK HERE (direct link to the pic) - there, I want to take a full-body picture with a corset looking like this :)

EyeshootPhotographs and La Rose Couture Shoot

As mentioned in my previous post, I had a great shoot with EyeshootPhotographs and La Rose Couture. We shot couple of her outfits, a purple one to die for and a halterneck one. Will most probably shoot this one again as it's so beautiful!

They were fab. Very high quality, amazing fabrics, well done and well, just BEAUTIFUL. I know La Rose since... forever. We know each other online for years and we just recently thought about shooting together.

I actually knew already her outfits were great, just that they are BEYOND great!!

This photoshoot has been very important to me. It allowed me to work with her after so many years and to do something beautiful. Thank you La Rose Couture!

Lucky me, I also got to work with one of the most awesome photographers ever - EyeshootPhotographs, who mastered a perfect English and has been SO kind and nice. Also, very fast! You have no idea how fast he is. He's easy going, nice, funny and helpful. He also owns a beautiful dog with big sweet eyes and I would have cuddled it for the rest of the day if given the chance to :P. I am probably more of a cat person, however dogs are just as lovely.

Thank you both. This shoot has been super and you have been great :)

Belgium Trip and a colorful picture of me :)

Since it's some time I don't write in my journal, I'll try to sort topics a bit. And post A LOT to catch up!

I am back from my Belgium trip. I am happy I have been back there. My #CitiesToVisit list is a bit boring since everytime I come back to Belgium instead of visiting new countries, but hey. I love it.

Every time I discover new places and find the same old tastes again. I like the smell of food in Belgium. You always smell something, while walking. There are small shops and lots of restaurants and sweets and "frites" everywhere. It must be terrible to be on a diet over there :)

Sadly I had no internet and we decided the route day by day due to the weather, so I couldn't warn anyone about meeting. I anyway managed to meet some people and it has been awesome! :)

I have been in Bruxelles, Antwerpen, Gent and Brugge (which I never visited before and loved it so much!). Once I got some wi-fi connection I tried to keep my twitter updated as much as I could, however it stopped working. Oh well. It was very annoying to type on the phone anyway *pouts*.

I posted some touristy pics on Twitter (will post more as I stopped uploading them for some reason).

I also had a great shoot with EyeshootPhotographs and La Rose Couture. I will update my website soon, however I am posting a pic here in the meanwhile ;)

Another picture post is coming soon. As said, I need to catch up with my journal! :)

EGL (Exclusively Gothic Lifestyle) Magazine Interview is online :)

Here you can read my online interview for EGL (Exclusively Gothic Lifestyle) Magazine.
I think this is so far the best interview I've ever had. Let alone the questions, that are not the same ones I get asked most of the times, this shows a side of me that people do not usually know/care too much about. Also, this is very personal.
Blackavar did a great job. Not just good, she has been great.

DIRECT LINK TO THE INTERVIEW: CLICK HERE TO READ!!

(Also, who can get my closing note? :))

Thank you EGL Magazine for this interview. I am so grateful. ♥

Ms. Marvel

This is a very old picture, but it's fun! I think I never published this one :)

Me as Ms. Marvel by Mark Loré.

Photographer: Mark Loré
Model: Delilah
MUAH: Alessandro Boscarato
Outfit: Ska Beam

Next one to cosplay would have been Rogue, which is my absolutely favourite character from X-Men. Sadly, we never managed to do it. The photographer went on hiatus some time after this shoot and we haven't been able to shoot ever since :(. It's been some years now and there is no way to contact him, so I assume the project is not happening.

So if anyone is willing to portray me as Rogue, YES I'm up for it. Ahah! :)

Speaking of this picture: it is heavily edited indeed. The photographer wanted to create something in between a picture and a comic. The mask was actually made of liquid latex and literally glued to my face. I will remember this shoot as lots of laughs and fun. I miss working with Mark, he is such a funny and creative guy :)
